her three grandchildren, Dimitri, Anastasia and Nicholas,
their families, Kristen, Paul and Alicia, and her seven
great grandchildren, Gabriella, Sophia, Eleni, Luciano,
Alexander, Nicholas and Hudson, who are all grateful
for the time they had with her and heartened
to know that she is reunited with
their beloved Pappou Dimitri.
Passed away peacefully on April 28, 2018 at the age of 92, surrounded by her family at the home of her daughter, Maria, in Hillsdale. Eleni Alexandrou was born to parents Euridike and Alexandros Peratikou, in Aradippou, Cyprus, where she lived with her 8 brothers and sisters. Mrs. Theodoulou married Dimitri (Jim) Theodoulou in 1948 and emigrated to the United States, where she found work as a seamstress in New York City. Married for more than 50 years, she and her husband raised two beautiful daughters, Maria and Eurideke. Best known for her keftethes, pastitsio and koubebia, Eleni’s true gift was the constant and unconditional love she gave to her family. Through her example, she taught her family to work hard, be kind to others and know that there is no sorrow that can’t be cured, at least in part, by good food shared with family. Her family loved her dearly, and in her words, she loved them more.
